How Do I Deal with Resistance to Change?

Presenter: Dan Kuemmel

About this Course

This online course explores why we are resistant to change, why resistance to change is a natural human response, and how to best address resistance to improve the odds of success. Resistance to Change is commonly covered as part of the larger subject of "Change Management." We'll cover the reasons why changes fail, how human psychology plays a big part in the success of any change, and discuss how to best adapt to the many changes faced by organizations in our modern world. By the end of this learning module, the learner will be able to:

  • Explain why resistance to change is natural
  • Describe why some people may be resistant to a particular change
  • Recognize common behaviors and statements that indicate resistance to a particular change
  • Develop a strategy for combating resistance to a particular change
  • Create a plan to help increase adoption and combat resistance to a particular change
